Royal Flying Corps Training Notes, 1917

Loose-leaf metal ring-bound notebook. Tan coloured stiff fabric and card cover. Embossed in gold on the front: "THE / ROYAL FLYING CORPS / LOOSE-LEAF NOTE-BOOK", with Royal Flying Corps (RFC) insignia below. Inside cover signed in ink pen: "Lt H H Blackwell / R.F.C. / 1917". This notebook belonged to Henry Hugh Blackwell of Kaiapoi, who joined the RFC in 1917. It contains notes divided by subject: "AEROPLANES", "BOMBS", "INSTRUMENTS", "WIRELESS SET / THEORY OF FLIGHT / RFC CAMERA", "ENGINES", "ARTILLERY OBSERVATION".
