WWI Exhibit at the Press Building on Gloucester

Date published:

The Press building has put together an exhibition of First World War photographs at their Gloucester Street site. The images come from a collection of around 1500 glass plate negatives that were presented to the National Library in the 1940s and have just been digitised. It’s well worth a look, if you get the chance, and is on Monday-Friday, 9am-4.30pm. There are some great shots of the Christchurch tram dressed up as a recruiting tool, encouraging young men to head off to war.
